CRPF vehicle turned turtle after the driver lost control in Srinagar
Today 27th May 2018, Nineteen Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were injured in a road accident in Srinagar.
The accident occurred after a CRPF vehicle went out of the driver’s control in the city’s Bemina area and turned turtle.
One trooper is reported to have suffered critical injuries, the police added.
The police officials have not confirmed earlier reports that said the accident took place after the vehicle was attacked by stone pelters.
One of the police officers added 21 personnel were on board the vehicle which was part of a three-vehicle convoy.
“19 CRPF personnel has received injuries. The injured were taken to JVC Hospital nearby where from seven of them were shifted to the Army’s Base Hospital here. One of the CRPF personnel is critical as he has received an injury in the spinal cord and is being shifted to New Delhi for specialized treatment”. He also said the incident took place around 5 am.
Whereas the SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray also said,“The CCTV footage was procured and it is clearly seen that the driver lost control which resulted in the mishap.”
The CCTV footage, however, shows the CRPF vehicle hitting a divider.
