India continues to deal with Coronavirus-led crises. Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Telangana, West Bengal, Gujarat and few other regions have contributed with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the second wave. The nation has recorded its highest ever surge this week with new infections. As of by Friday i.e May 7, the country’s single-day rise has crossed the mark of 4. 14 lakh.
As per the data issued by the Health Ministry, India recorded around 4,14,188 fresh COVID-19 cases, while the discharge count stands at 3,31,507. There were 3,915 deaths. Total caseload reached the mark of 2,14,91,598 and the total recoveries are at 1,76,12,351. The death toll is at 2,34,083 and the total vaccination so far done is 16,49,73,058.
Maharashtra and Karnataka remain to be the worst-hit states by the second wave. MAHA reported 62194 cases, Karnataka 49058 cases, Kerala 42464 cases and UP 26780 cases.
Speaking about the global Coronavirus tally, the US remains to be the worst-hit country with 33,367,812 followed by India at the second position among other nations.
