Several states in India have contributed with the highest number of fresh Coronavirus cases. These states include Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka and others. The highest single-day rise has peaked to the 2 lakh mark, which makes it the highest rise ever since the pandemic hit India. The safety concerns have surely doubled for the Health Ministry after many states reported having a shortage of vaccines.
As per the data issued by the Health Ministry on Thursday i.e April 15, around 2,00,739 fresh Coronavirus cases were reported in India, in the span of 24 hours. More than 1000 people lost their lives owing to the outspread. The new pandemic wave takes the total number of positive cases to 1,40,74,564 and the total number of deaths increased to 1,73,123. The total number of active cases in the country remains 14,71,877 and the total number of discharged cases stays at 1,24,29,564.
States including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka and few others have imposed night curfews and weekend lockdowns in order to curb the outspread. Maharashtra government recently has also announced imposing section 144 as the cases still keep rising. Alongside running out of vaccines, many hospitals have reported having a shortage of oxygen supply.
