COVID-19 Spike: 533 districts across India reported 10% positivity rate
According to the latest COVID-19 tally in India, around 533 districts across reported more than 10 per cent positivity rate. This raises the concerns of third wave of pandemic
The pandemic Coronavirus has become a global health concern now. India stands at the second position to have been worst hit by the outspread after the US. With the rapid rate of the surge in the new infection rate, around 533 districts across the nation reported a 10 percent count in positivity rate. A total of 13 states have more than 1 lakh active cases currently.
According to the data issued by the Health Ministry on Wednesday i.e May 12, India lost 4,205 people to the Coronavirus in the span of the last 24 hours. This is the highest-ever death count that India has ever seen in a single day since the pandemic began in 2020. This also marks the third time surge up to the 4k mark in recent few years. As per the studies, as many as 533 of the country’s 700-plus districts are now reporting a test positivity rate of more than 10 per cent, the government said on Tuesday. This is underlining the massive spread of Coronavirus infection in rural India in the second wave.

As per the media reports, Dr. Bhargava said while talking about the surging cases said, “India is facing a massive upsurge in Covid-19 cases. The national positivity rate is around 20-21 per cent, and about 42 percent of districts in the country are reporting a positivity rate more than the national average. Early testing, isolation is key to control transmission.”
