COVID-19 New Wave: Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray To Conduct High Level Meeting

The pandemic Coronavirus outspread sees a sudden surge over the last few weeks. The highest single-day rise has crossed the mark of 81,000 by Friday i.e April 2. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, Punjab and few states have contributed with the highest number of cases. MAHA CM Uddhav Thackeray to now host a high-level meeting as the COVID-19 cases have rapidly increased.
Maharashtra has been on the list of eight states which have contributed to over 84 percent of the total COVID-19 tally in India. By Thursday i.e April 1, the state reported as many as 43,183 fresh COVID-19 cases and there were 249 deaths in just a 24hrs span. This marks both the highest single-day rise since the pandemic began and also the highest number of deaths since October last year. Management concerns for the health department have surely become more challenging with the new pandemic wave. To discuss the plannings amidst the rapidly rising COVID-19 caseload, Uddhav Thackeray to conduct a high-level meeting.

Earlier there were reports that Uddhav Thackeray had asked his officials to create a lockdown-like restrictions plan. Although the lockdown won’t be imposed, there would be restrictions over the public gatherings. Maharashtra government is yet to officially comment on the new COVID-19 guidelines in wake of the new wave.
