India has entered its 18th day of the lockdown and the situation of India is the same. In fact, even after the lockdown, coronavirus, infected cases have seen a spike. The total number of coronavirus cases in India has crossed the 7000 mark that includes more than 6000 active cases, 775 recovered cases, and 249 deaths caused.
Maharashtra is currently the epicenter of COVID-19 and more cases are reported daily in the state. 92 new COVID-19 cases are reported in Maharashtra and the tally rises to 1666. BMC has made it mandatory to wear masks or else actions will be taken against those who don’t wear masks.
Today, PM Modi had a meeting with Chief Ministers via video conference to discuss COVID-19 situation in the country. PM Modi including all the CMs were seen wearing masks or covering their face with ‘gamcha’ during the meeting. Earlier, Odisha and Punjab state governments had already announced an extension in their states till May 1. In today’s meeting, many leaders have suggested the extension of the lockdown.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases across 185 nations has reached 1,694,954 and the death toll is at 102,607 at 06.30 am (IST) on Saturday (April 11, 2020). The USA has seen the highest number of cases followed by Spain at 158,273, Italy at 147,577, Germany at 122,171, and France at 125,171 as per Johns Hopkins University data.
