India registered the highest coronavirus spike, with 27,114 new positive cases being recorded in the last 24 hours. The country’s COVID-19 case tally stand at 8,20,916. 2,83,407 active cases, 5,15,386 cured/discharged/migrated 22,123 deaths total.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data. India is the third worst-hit nation, behind only the United States and Brazil.
Maharashtra continues to remain the worst-affected state with 2,30,599 cases including 9,667 deaths, followed by Tamil Nadu with 1,26,581 cases and Delhi at 1,07,051 cases.
Recently, scientists from CSIR, on Friday told a Parliament panel that no vaccine appears possible before early next year. This statement was in connection to ICMR’s ambitious timeline to produce a COVID vaccine by August 15.
WHO has acknowledged the possibility that the novel coronavirus can remain in the air in crowded indoor spaces. They have also issued some new guidelines for protection against the airborne virus.
Globally, over 12 crore people have been infected with the virus and 5,56,383 have died. The United States continues to be the worst affected country with over 3 million cases. Brazil is the second-worst affected country with over 1.7 million positive cases. India is in the third position in terms of the total number of Covid-19 cases.
