The Bihar government on Monday extended Covid-19 lockdown by a week till June 1. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made the announcement on Twitter after discussing the matter with other ministers and officers. The decision was taken in view of a sharp decline in the number of Covid-19 affected people in the state.
The state had imposed the lockdown on May 5 for 11 days, and later the government extended it till May 25. The CM has now decided to continue with the restrictions imposed for a week more.
The CM tweeted in Hindi, “There has been a good impact of lockdown with a decline in the number of infection. So a decision has been taken to extend the lockdown period for a week from May 25 to June 1 in the state.’
