Entire nation has been under lockdown for almost three months now in the outspread of novel Coronavirus. While the government has recently announced unlock phase one in non infected areas, the spreading of the infection has apparently seen a hike in the numbers. As per the latest reports, Bhiwandi to undergo complete lockdown for more 15 days.
The General Body meeting of Bhiwandi Nizampura City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) has decided that barring essential services, all other activities will remain shut considering the increasing cases of COVID-19. Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation said that it will enforce a complete lockdown for next 15 days starting from Thursday i.e June 18.
As per a latest report in Free Press Journal, while commenting on the extended lockdown, Pratibha Vilas Patil, Bhiwandi Municipal Mayor said, “After discussing the issue for over three hours in the standing committee we approved that to avoid the spread of COVID-19, we need to enforce the lockdown for 15 days starting from Thursday.. We have informed to police department and district administration about the same.”
Bhiwandi is said to have reported 36 COVID-19 positive cases after the unlock phase one.
