The pandemic Coronavirus outspread sees a surge as the summer began in India. Over last few weeks the fresh cases have been rapidly increasing creating concerns for the health ministry. Just in the span of 23 days, the fresh COVID-19 cases moved from 30,000 per day to to 60,000 per day. Friday i.e. March 26 marked the highest single-day rise with more thank 60 thousand fresh cases which is the highest over last five months.
States which have highly contributed towards this new COVID-10 wave include Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, Bengaluru and few others. According to official data, India now has a total of 1.19 crore coronavirus infections, of which 1.12 have recovered while, 1.61 lakh people have succumbed to the virus. Maharashtra reported its around 36,902 fresh cases on Friday.
For the unversed, the Health Ministry informed that India’s total COVID-19 vaccinations have touched the mark of 5.81 crores this week. The nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive had begun few months ago and the vaccines were given as per categories kickstarting with the frontline workers. India has also actively helped neighbourhood nations exporting huge quantity of vaccines.
