A surge has been recorded in Coronavirus cases post the Diwali festive season in India. With the rising number of infections, state governments are gearing up to take precautionary steps to contain further spreading of the virus. After Delhi considers to impose the lockdown again amidst the Chath Puja festivities, Ahmedabad imposes curfew.
The announcement has been made by the Additional Chief Secretary Rajiv Kumar Gupta about the states decision of reviewing the coronavirus situation on Thursday night. The decision was to impose the night curfew from 9 pm to 6 am from Friday onwards. The Gujarat government also decided has put on hold the reopening of schools and colleges from November 23. “We have withdrawn the decision to reopen schools and colleges from November 23 for the time being. It will be decided in due course,” informed the Education Minister, Bhupendrasinh Chudasama to The Indian Express.
“After reviewing corona situation late night, it has been decided that ‘complete curfew’ shall be imposed from Friday 9 pm till Monday 6 am in Ahmedabad city. During this period, only shops selling milk and medicines shall be permitted to remain open,” Rajiv Kumar Gupta informed the daily.
