Coronavirus Update: COVID Vaccines Could Be Ready In Few Weeks Says PM Modi

Due to a sudden surge in the pandemic Coronavirus cases, leaders from different regions are analysing their planning’s for the second wave of pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted an all-party meeting to discuss the spreading of this deadly virus and the vaccination planning. He said that the COVID vaccine could be ready in few weeks.

Addressing all political parties of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, PM Modi held a virtual meeting while Union Health Minister Harshvardhan briefed the leaders on the coronavirus situation in India at present. Talking about the vaccine, PM said that, “Our scientists are very confident of succeeding in their endeavour of making a successful coronavirus vaccine. The world is keeping a watch on the cheapest and safe vaccine. That is why the world is watching India. Nearly 8 vaccines are on different stages of trial with their manufacturing assured in India. Three vaccines from India are at different stages of development. Experts think that the vaccine isn’t too far away. It is understood that the COVID vaccines will be ready in few weeks. The government is waiting for a go-ahead from the scientists.”

During his speech PM also revealed that the first priority for the vaccines will be given to the healthcare workers, frontline workers and the old people.

For the unversed, the second COVID-19 wave recorded getting stronger in the regions such as Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu and few other regions. The total infected cases reached to 9.57M mark in the first week of December, while the recovery rate reached to 9.02M mark.
