Two test positive for Coronavirus in Gujarat; one from Rajkot the other from Surat
COVID-19 cases are on the rise in the country. The highest are seen in the state of Maharashtra followed by Kerala and other states. The Central and the State government is working together to tackle this pandemic. India’s death toll rose to 4 on Thursday after a 72-year-old man died of novel coronavirus infection in Punjab. Gujarat that was to date free from the virus has also confirmed two cases. Two-person have tested positive for the coronavirus in Gujarat. Surat and Rajkot have reported one case each.
According to the ministry, the number of novel coronavirus cases in India has climbed to 173. The cases include 25 foreign nationals — 17 belonging to Italy, three from the Philippines, two from the UK, one each from Canada, Indonesia, and Singapore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the nation and asked each one to do the needful to contain the spread of the virus. The PM said we should not be complacent about the Coronavirus pandemic. He has advised the citizens to follow the directive of government and practice restraint and follow social distancing.
Delhi has 12 Coronvirus positive cases, while Uttar Pradesh has recorded 19 cases, Maharashtra has 47 cases, Kerala has recorded 27 cases. Karnataka has 14 coronavirus patients. The number of cases in Ladakh rose to eight and Jammu and Kashmir four. Telangana has reported six cases. Rajasthan has seven cases. Tamil Nadu and Punjab have two cases. Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Puducherry, and Chandigarh have reported one case each. In Haryana, there are 17 cases.
