There were a few cities in Maharashtra which did not have a single Coronavirus positive cases and one of them was Malegaon. If the latest report is to be believed, 11 fresh cases reported in Malegaon on Tuesday (April 21) taking a total figure of Coronavirus cases in Malegaon to 96.
Besides common, SRPF Jawans who were called for Shab-e-Barat Bandobast in Malegaon have also fallen prey to COVID-19. As per the latest reports, of 107 SRPF Jawans, who were called from Hangoli, Dhulia and Jalna, 6 have been tested positive for Coronavirus.

Notably, the news of first positive Coronavirus cases in Malegaon came a day before Shab-e-Barat 2020 which is also known as mid-Shaban. On the occasion of Shab-e-Barat, Muslims seek forgiveness from the almighty for their past sins and visit graveyards to pray for their deceased relatives.
According to Muslims, on this auspicious night, fortunes of all humans for the next year are decided or God (Allah) forgives sinners. It is to be noted that not all Muslims observe this mid-Shaban night as holy, Salafis do oppose the recognition of this night.
