The new strain of confirmed mutant Coronavirus cases were reported in the United Kingdom last week. Indian government has imposed a temporary suspension of incoming flights in order to contain the spreading new variant of COVID-19. According to the latest reports, a women who recently came back from UK has tested positive for COVID-19 and she travelled through Delhi-Vizag train after escaping from Delhi quarantine center.
The women apparently reached her hometown Rajamahendravaram in Andhra Pradesh after allegedly running away from a quarantine center which is located in Delhi. She was held by the Railway police and health authorities and admitted to a local hospital after Wednesday midnight i.e. December 23. Her swab samples are being sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune to determine whether she contracted the new strain of COVID-19 from United Kingdom, apparently a Health department official stated.
Allegedly, the women is said to have turned off mobile phone. After she reached her hometown, she learned about investigating officials had contacted her family members.
