Congress netas appear for UP spokesperson exam, face weird questions
Since the days for 2019 Lok Sabha elections are coming near, political parties are in a mood to strengthen their base. While Bharatiya Janata Party president is visiting states and motivating members, Congress has taken a other way round. Congress is looking for party spokepersons who have in-depth knowledge of BJP’s policies and their constituencies, history of party, etc.
In the process of selection, a written test was organised in Lucknow on Thursday by Congress party where 70 leaders, even seniors among them, participated and were seen clueless. Where senior leaders did not know what to answer, aspiring one had to turn on the web for answering 14 questions. Even the old party spokesperson had to sit for the test.

Among the questions asked during the written exam inlcude – How many LS seats are there in UP?, list the key failures of Modi government, Into how many divisions and blocks is UP divided? What was the vote share of Congress in 2004? List the development polices of Manmohan Singh government, etc. Due to some tough question, many dropped out of the exam. After the written test, interviews were conducted too.
Miffed with the process of selection, several candidates even showed their anger. Even one said, “What is the need of such a school-like system?” Though communication cell convener Priyanka Chaturvedi and UPCC chief Raj Babbar interviewed the candidates, with results to be out on Saturday, this weirdness in politics is seen perhaps for the first time.
