Computer baba resigns as Minister of state, accuses BJP of being anti-religion
Computer Baba — one of five Sadhus given a charge of Minister of state in Madhya Pradesh on Monday resigned from Shivraj Chouhan’s ministry alleging that, “He was not allowed to do anything”.
“I discussed the condition of cows and illegal mining at river Narmada but I wasn’t allowed to do anything. I could not put forth the thoughts of saints before the government and therefore, I don’t want to be a part of such government,” he was quoted by ANI as saying.
Computer baba said, “Shivraj Singh is not interested in doing any work related to religion. That’s why I resigned.” Computer baba’s resignation comes six months after he was accorded the minister of status. The announcement of cow ministry seems to have upset computer baba.
He asked, “Why only a cow ministry? A Narmada ministry is important too.” Later in the evening, Baba said, he had no option but to quit the government as they can not take care of the cow. He also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being anti-religion.
Computer Baba said in his six months tenure in the government, he had reportedly discussed the condition of cows and illegal mining at river Narmada “but wasn’t allowed” to do anything.
Computer Baba thundered, “How can I be part of a government where cows are not respected, and one which is clearly godless?”
In the month of June, one of them, Bhaiyyu Maharaj, committed suicide at his ashram in Indore. Computer Baba had at the time demanded an investigation.
