Tamil actor Vemal, who has worked in several movies such as Pasanga (2009), Kalavani (2010) and Kalakalappu (2012) has been booked under section 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 294b (Uttering obscene language) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) by another actor Abhishek for allegedly physically assaulting him.
You must have seen Vemal fighting on the silver screen but it is rarely we get to see these stars fighting in real life. If you live in an apartment in Chennai’s Virugambakkam area, you must have seen them fighting on Monday. The incident came to light on Monday when Abhishek filed a complaint against him and his three friends for assaulting him. If reports are to be believed both were in an inebriated condition when the incident took place.
According to reports, Vemal along with his friends came to the serviced apartment at Baskar Colony, Virugambakkam requesting for a room to stay in. Abhishek who was staying at the complex for a month was apparently lounging on the sofa while ignoring Vemal and gestured the latter to wait until he finished the call.
As per a report in Times of India, Vimal got angry by Abishek’s behaviour when the latter continued to ignore him and speak over the phone. He then began attacking Abhishek along with his friends. Abhishek who sustained injuries to his eyes and face was taken to a private hospital following which he filed a complaint against Vemal and his friends.
Following the incident, Vemal has been absconding since the incident, and the Virugambakkam police are currently on the lookout for him.
