An Indian sand-up comedian Manjunath Naidu — who was performing on stage in Dubai on 19th July — has died. According to reports, Manjunath Naidu was talking about anxiety and later collpased on the stage while making people laugh in the middle east country. When Naidu was talking about anxiety or collapsed on the stage, people thought that it was a part of the act but unfortunately it was a cardiac arrest.
According to Khaleej Times, Manjunath Naidu suffered a cardiac arrest while performing an act in Dubai this Friday. Before collapsing to the ground, he complained of the high level of anxiety and sat down on the bench next to him but people assumed it was a part of his act.
The incident took place on Friday, July 19 at Clavichord, Signature Hotel, Dubai. An eye witness told Gulf News that they were shocked by the incident. “I was sitting in the front row at the show and Manjunath was the last performer of the night,” PR manager Sana Topiwala told Gulf News. “The show kicked off around 9.30pm and Manjunath came on around 11.20pm.”
The Topiwala said that in his 15 minutes act, Naidu started complaining about growing anxiety. Later, he suddenly started to pants and sat down on the bench to catch his breath. A few minutes later, he suddenly collapsed and fell to the ground in front of an audience of 80 people.
Some eyewitnesses thought this was part of the act. However, when he did not move for more than 3 minutes some of the comics and hotel staff members rushed on stage to administer CPR.
“We called the paramedics and followed him to Al Zahra Hospital Barsha. They attempted CPR, injected him with adrenaline but it was too late. We were informed he died of a cardiac arrest,” she added.
