Indraprastha Gas Limited has announced a hike in prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG). The price hike is in Delhi and neighbouring cities of Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and others. It will come into effect from 6 am on 13 October.

In a series of tweets on Tuesday, IGL announced the revised rates of CNG and PNG for various cities.
“Indraprastha Gas Limited announces revision in its domestic PNG price w.e.f., 13th October 2021,”

CNG’s price in the national capital was hiked by Rs 2.28 per kg. While piped cooking gas supplied to households by Rs 2.10. This comes after a 62 per cent hike in natural gas prices.

Here is the list of CNG price hikes in Delhi and other cities:

  • Delhi                                                                           Rs. 49.76/- per Kg.
  • Noida, Greater Noida & Ghaziabad                       Rs. 56.02/- per Kg.
  • Gurugram                                                                  Rs. 58.20/- per Kg.
  • Rewari                                                                       Rs. 58.90/- per Kg.

  • Ajmer, Pali & Rajsamand                                       Rs. 65.02/- per Kg.

The company said that the revision in prices has been done to marginally offset the impact of an increase in prices of domestically produced natural gas and increased dependence on costlier R-LNG.

The IGL said that the increase would have a marginal impact on the per km running cost of vehicles. For autos, the increase would be 6 paise per km. Whereas for taxis it would be 11 paise. In the case of buses, the increase would be Rs 1.65 per km. ‎
