The coronavirus pandemic has been increasing day by day. On Monday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray wrote a 2-page letter to the Prime Minister Of India Narendra Modi. In his letter, he urged to allow citizens above the age of 25 to get the COVID-19 vaccination.
Thackeray shared the letter on his Twitter and wrote as: “CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray has written to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi to further lower the age group eligible for vaccination to 25 years old to curb the intensity of the rising cases in the state”
Thackeray wrote that the young generation is getting infected by the deadly virus, and he wants to prevent the spread for people above 25 years, thus they should be eligible for vaccination. He also requested additional vaccine doses for six districts- Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nashik, Nagpur, and Aurangabad, facing a surge in the state.
He also thanked Narendra Modi for accepting his proposal of allowing all persons above 45 years of age to be made eligible for COVID-19 vaccination. He apprised PM Modi that over 76 lakh people are vaccinated in the state till April 4. On April 3, 4.62 lakh people were vaccinated in Maharashtra, where 76.86 lakh people have received it so far.
