Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa Tests Positive For Covid-19, admitted to hospital
Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa took to his Twitter to share that he has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
Chief Minister of Karnataka, B.S. Yediyurappa has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. On Sunday, he took to his Twitter handle to share the news, along with him, today, his daughter Padmavathi has tested positive for the same, and are now getting treated at Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru.
B.S Yediyurappa took to his Twitter and wrote, “I have tested positive for coronavirus. Whilst I am fine, I am being hospitalised as a precaution on the recommendation of doctors. I request those who have come in contact with me recently to be observant and exercise self quarantine.”

Sharing an update on his health, the Manipal Hospital said, “Hon CM of Karnataka Shri BS Yediyurappa has been admitted to Manipal hospital for observation. He is doing well, is clinically stable, and will be monitored closely by our team,” said in a statement issued late Sunday night.
Yediyurappa is the second chief minister in India to be infected by Covid-19. The BJP leader was in-home quarantine a couple of weeks ago after some staff members in his home office were tested positive for the coronavirus. However, his COVID-19 test results were found to be negative.
Earlier, on Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also tweeted that he has been tested positive for COVID-19, “On getting the initial symptoms of corona, I got the test done and the report came back positive. My health is fine, but I am being admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors. I request that all of you who have come in contact with me in the last few days, please isolate yourself and get your inquiry done.” Shah tweeted.

Karnataka’s COVID-19 tally now stands at 1,34,819 positive cases, including 74,590 active cases and 57,725 discharged patients.
