CM Yogi Adityanath’s cheque to UP class X topper bounced

A class X topper of Uttar Pradesh board exams was very happy when he received a cheque from the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his hard work, but the happiness turned to disappointment when that cheque was bounced and if that’s not enough, he was also made to pay penalty for it.

Alok Misra, the seventh rank holder in the Class 10 exams of the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board (UPSEB), was called to Lucknow on May 29 for a felicitation function and given a cheque of ₹1 lakh by the chief minister for securing 93.5 %marks in the exams.

His father deposited the cheque on June 05 in a bank in Lucknow but was informed that the cheque had bounced due to mismatch of signatures. He was also made to pay the penalty for it.

The cheque presented to the student had the signature of Raj Kumar Yadav, District Inspector of Schools, Barabanki.

“I was very happy to receive the cheque from the chief minister. Later, I came to know that it had bounced. It led to some disappointment,” Alok, a student of Young Stream Inter College, said.

DIOS, Raj Kumar Yadav said, “The reason for cheque bouncing has been told as a mismatch of signature. However, no other student has come up with a similar complaint as of now. A new cheque has been issued to the student.”

District Magistrate Barabanki, Uday Bhanu Tripathi said, “This is a very serious issue and action will be taken if any laxity is found. The matter is related to the CM and should have been taken seriously.”
