On Tuesday morning i.e. March 23 Google fixed the technical issues that led the Android applications crash. After the users complained about experiencing android apps crash non-stop, the tech giant has introduced its fixes through the updates. Users from all across have mainly complained about Gmail crashing on their android phones and this downtime apparently lasted for around eight long hours. The crash of the applications caused due to the system’s component-Android WebView which is powered by the Chrome. Google quickly got its fix that asked users to update their respective Android System WebView to version 89.0.4389.105 and Google Chrome to the latest version. Both of these applications are available on PlayStore.
Google has officially acknowledged about the issues being resolved. The company had recommended users to meanwhile switch to the desktop interface until issues were resolved. “We’re aware of a problem with Gmail affecting a significant subset of users. The affected users are unable to access Gmail. Affected users are reporting the Gmail app on Android crashes,” stated Google Workspace.
According to the DownDetector, a service which is known for tracking internet outage reported that over 1000 reports were related to the Gmail crashing on android users on Tuesday morning.
