Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is currently busy with several projects and has three big films hitting the screen in 2019. While he is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film – Mission Mangal which also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, among others.
The actor has recently announced that he is also a part of two more movies. Both happen to be remakes of South Indian blockbusters- Bachchan Pandey, which starred Thala Ajith and Tamannaah Bhatia and Ajith’s 2014 Tamil hit Veeram.
While the film is due for the Christmas 2020 release, it will be clashing with Aamir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha. Notably, Aamir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ Academy Award-winning 1994 movie Forrest Gump.
Speaking about the film, Akshay Kumar told Mumbai Mirror that we should be happy two big movies would be released on the same day. The actor, speaking with Mumbai Mirror, said that we should be happy that two big movies would be released together.
“We have 52 Fridays in a year and even fewer holiday weekends. We make over 200 Hindi films a year while Hollywood releases 40 more and then there are the South industry and other regional cinema. So, we should be happy if we have two big releases in a week. This year, on the Independence Day weekend we had three, (Mission Mangal, Batla House, and Saaho) till one bowed out,” he said.
Other than Mission Mangal, Akshay will also be seen in Housefull 4 and Good News this year.
