Is Chris Evans really done playing Captain America? Read on to know the truth
Marvel’s cinematic extravaganza ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ has finally hit the theaters and caused a tsunami at the box-office. The movie has managed to collect more than Rs. 100 crores in India alone within a couple of days. The craze for the superhero saga is on an all-time high as fans are rushing to the nearest theaters to watch their favorite character fight it out with Thanos in the final battle.
Captain America star Chris Evans had late last year tweeted that he is hanging up the shield. Since then there have been speculations that the actor is retiring from acting post ‘Avengers: Endgame’. Finally, the actor cleared the air about his future.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter Chris Evans said, “I never said the word ‘retire.’ It’s a really obnoxious notion for an actor to say they’re going to retire — it’s not something you retire from.”
In the interview, the actor also confessed that he was hesitant to take up the role of Captain America. The actor said, “There’s no real darkness to him. How do I make this guy someone you want to watch? I don’t get jokes. I’m not Wolverine. I don’t have dead parents, like Batman. I’m just, like, ‘Hi, I’ll walk your dog. I’ll help you move.'”
Chris Evans is interested in direction and has already directed a movie, titled ‘Before We Go’. The Indie movie sees the Marvel actor star in it as well.
On the work front, Chris will next be seen in murder mystery titled ‘Knives Out’. The movie is directed by Rian Johnson and is slated to release in November. He’s also in the talks to feature in Antoine Fuqua’s Infinite.
