It is to be noted that, On Monday, Indian Police Service officer Manish Kumar Sinha, who was leading the CBI Chief Rakesh Asthana’s bribery case moved the top court against his transfer to Nagpur and demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the case.
It is to be noted that, Manish Kumar Sinha was among the officers who were transferred after the investigation agency chief Alok Verma and Rakesh Asthana were sent on forced leave in October after bribery allegations were levelled against them.
Sinha alleged that he was unjustly transferred to Nagpur in the wee hours of October 24 as his probe was leading towards certain influential people. His application termed the transfer ‘arbitrary, motivated, and malafide’ and one that is made ‘solely with the purpose and intent to victimise the officer as the probe revealed cogent evidence against influential persons.
