PV Sindhu advances to second round of China Open
Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu thrashed Evgeniya Kosetskaya of Russia to advance into the second round of the China Open in Fuzhou on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old World No.2 was at her lethal best and needed less than half an hour to displace the Russian 21-13, 21-19 to begin her campaign with an assuring win on the opening day of the tournament.

Sindhu was dominating right from the start and raced ahead in no time to win the opening game 21-13. But Kosetskaya bounced back in the second game and made Sindhu work hard. The Indian, however, maintained her momentum to pocket the game and with it the victory.
Meanwhile, in the doubles category, the women’s pair of Sikki Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa exited the tournament in the round of 32.
Among the others, Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy will take on Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark in the men’s doubles round 32 clash.
