Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday attacked the Congress and Urban Naxals while addressing the people in Jagdalpur of Chhattisgarh. He was of the opinion that the Urban Naxals have been operating from the cities and alleged that Congress party is supporting them.
Addressing an electoral rally, he made a scathing attack on the naxals. He also made the comparison between the lifestyles of rural naxals and urban naxals. According to him, the rural naxals in Chhattisgarh die out of hunger and the urban naxals’ children study in foreign nations and they operate via remote control.
He said, “Urban Maoists live in AC surroundings, move around in big cars and their children study abroad, but they ruin the lives of our poor Adivasi youth here through remote control. Why is Congress supporting these Urban Maoists?”
Recalling the recent incident of death of a Doordarshan cameraman, he said, “A brave and innocent cameraman from DD — Achutyanand Sahu — was killed by Maoists. Recently our valiant jawans were also martyred in encounter with Maoists and for Congress party these Maoists are revolutionaries? What sort of vocabulary is this?”
Appealing the people to vote for the Bharatiya Janatya Party-led Raman Singh government, PM Modi said, “I urge the people of Bastar to teach a fitting lesson to the Congress leaders, who on one hand try to shield the urban Maoists, and in Chhattisgarh, they speak about freeing the state from Maoists.”
Adding more he stated that the BJP government on Chhattisgarh have developed the state in just four years of time, which the Congress couldn’t think of. The Premier was of the opinion that as Chhattisgarh has turned 18-years, the state has new requirements and needs new budget, which only a BJP government can give.
Boasting about the development works done by the BJP government in the state, PM Modi stated that the combined efforts of both — Centre and Raman Singh — have improved the connectivity of the tribal state to the rest of the country. He cited that 30,000-km road had been built in last four years which connected 3,000 villages.
Also, 3,000 kms of national highways has been constructed, which gave speed to the economic development of the state, he said. Stating more, the Premier said that his government approved seven new railway lines for Rs 12,000 crore and approved more than Rs 11,000 crore for 15,000 km railways broadening project.
Making it very clear that the his intention is to seek voters to vote for the BJP, Narendra Modi tried to appeal people by taking the name of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He stated that he is there to fufill the dreams of the former PM.
The PM in his address not only criticised the Congress and Urban naxals, but gave slogans for the state leaders to seek votes. Along with “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”, this time he derived a new one — ‘Baar Baar Bhajpa’ (Everytime BJP).
The Assembly elections for 18 seats in Chhattisgarh will take place on Monday. The Second phase for 72 seats will take place on November 20 and the results will be declared on December 11, along with four other states.
