An Encounter broke out between the Security personnel and Maoists in Kistaram area of Sukma district leaving at least two Chhattisgarh Police personnel and eight Maoists killed.
The gunbattle broke out at a forest in Kistaram area bordering Telangana, around 500 km from Raipur when a team of security personnel was out on an anti-Naxal operation, Sukma’s Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena told news agency PTI.
Adding on he said that Eight bodies of Naxals were found at the encounter spot.
According to a report, Two District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel have also been killed in the exchange of gunfire. Reinforcements have been rushed to the spot, the SP said.
