A brace from striker Guillaume Hoarau helped Young Boys stun Juventus 2-1 in the Champions League on Thursday. Although this result would not be of any significance for the Turin giants, it was their first away defeat in over a year.
This was Young Boys’ first-ever victory in the Champions League group stage.
For Juventus, the talismanic Cristiano Ronaldo squandered many opportunities in the first half while Dybala, who had pulled one goal back earlier had one disallowed for being in an offside position.
Young Boys took an unexpected lead in the 30th minute from the spot and the hosts doubled their lead in the 68th minute much to the agony of the Juve fans.

But Dybala pulled one back in the 80th minute but had another from a long range, which was disallowed because of a leaping Ronaldo who had come in front of goalkeeper Marco Woelfi.
Despite the loss, Juventus finished at the top of the Group H and was followed by Manchester United, who came second despite losing to Valencia with the same scoreline.
Juventus paid the price for resting some of their key players in Giorgio Chiellini, Ronaldo and Blaise Matuidi for the inconsequential match.
Young Boys earned a penalty when Alex Sandro took down Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu inside the box. Despite Juve goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny accurately reading the direction of the kick, it was he who pushed the ball into the net. This was the 100th goal for Hoarau in the Young Boys jersey and he added one more to his tally when he cut through Leonardo Bonucci to slot his side’s second into the net with a shot off the left foot.
Hoarau interestingly managed to hit his own bar as well when a header from Sandro took a deflection of his leg before the keeper prevented the damage.
