Centre Rushes COVID-19 Control Teams to 6 States Witnessing High Corona Cases
The central government has rushed Covid-19 control teams to six states facing a high turnout of coronavirus cases. The teams were sent to control and contain the surge in coronavirus cases. The six states are: Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Manipur.

The 2-member high-level team comprises a clinician and a public health expert. The Teams will monitor the overall implementation of Covid-19 measures, from testing to surveillance and containment operations. Also Covid-appropriate behaviour including hospital beds, ambulances and ventilators.
They will interact with the health authorities of the states and discuss measures to contain the spread. After assessing the situation it will suggest remedial actions to the state governments. The team will then submit its report to the Union Health ministry.
India has registered 46,617 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as per the Union health ministry on Friday. A total of 59,384 patients have recovered. But with 853 deaths in the last 24 hours, India stands third in the world after the USA and Brazil. The country’s total death toll stands at 4,00,312 behind the USA’s 6.05 lakh and Brazil’s 5.2 lakh.
