The pandemic Coronavirus outspread has not been contained as of yet. While we are still struggling with impact of the lockdown imposed owning to the pandemic, a new virus spread is making headlines from China again. The ICMR scientists have now found another virus coming, which is named ‘Cat Que Virus’ and apparently it has the potential to spread diseases across India.
According to the latest reports, the ICMR stated that the virus has the potential to spread diseases across India. It is one of the arthropod-borne viruses (arboviruses), the CQV may cause febrile illnesses, meningitis, and paediatric encephalitis among humans.
The National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune researchers have found the antibodies for the virus in two out of the 883 human serum samples which were taken from various Indian states. This indicated that people at some point have contracted the new virus. The natural host for this virus spreading is considered to be a mosquito, however, the domestic pigs are the primary mammalian host of CQV. The anti-CQV IgM and IgG antibodies have been reported in swine reared locally in China.
