In Bulandshahr, an area turned into a battlefield when a mob attacked a police station and set a police van on fire, leaving police inspector Satya Subodh Kumar Singh killed. The incident took place in the Syana area of the west UP district.
According to the report, the people had blocked the road and protested over the issue of the illegal slaughterhouse in Bulandshahr. As per reports, there were some conflicts reported between police and crowd.
In an attempt to disperse an angry crowd, police opened fire leaving one man seriously injured. Following this, the crowd got angry and ransacked the police station.
The protesters set a police van and several vehicles on fire. Meanwhile, the protestors also pelted stone at the police station. According to reports, somebody threw a stone from the crowd and allegedly opened fire, in which police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh was seriously injured and later died during treatment.
In order to prevent any untoward incident a large number of police have been deployed on Hapur road to stop the vehicles coming back from Ijtema, Bulanshahr.
BJP district president Himanshu Mittal told The Hindu that two protestors had also been shot by the police. One of them is suspected to be a BJP activist and is referred to Meerut in critical condition, he said.
