BTS’s Permission To Dance Debuts On UK’s Official Singles Chart. Butter stays strong at Top 40
BTS Permission To Dance has debuted at number 16 on the United Kingdom’s Official Singles Charts. The latest number is BTS’s fifth song to land in the top 20 of the Official Singles Chart. This is after ‘Boy With Luv,’ ‘Dynamite,’ ‘Life Goes On,’ and ‘Butter.’ The song was also the second most downloaded song of the week, bested only by Ed Sheeran’s ‘Bad Habits.’
Permission To Dance’ was co-written by Ed Sheeran, alongside Snow Patrol’s Steve Mac, Johnny McDaid and Jenna Andrews. The song is also featured on the newly released CD version of the group’s chart-topping English-language single ‘Butter’.
BTS previous single ‘Butter’ ranked No. 34 in its eighth week on the Official Singles Chart. This gives the group two simultaneous Top 40 hits on the chart. The boyband has also become the group with most Top 10 hits in the UK. Butter, which made its debut on the UK Official Singles Chart is the group’s third Top 10 song on the chart.
The Official Singles Chart ranks the most popular songs in the United Kingdom, and the Official Charts are often regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts.
