South Korean boy band, BTS is known for mesmerising their fans with their soulful songs. The seven members boy band released their music video, ‘Stay Gold’ on YouTube, yet again giving loads of theories to their fans. The band members is popular for using creative representation for portraying their journey in the K-pop world. In their new song they showcase how they managed to get to the fairy land. Here, take a look at some hidden and beautiful message in the song.
From their smiling faces, to fairy dust and the glimpse of each small element, the song is full of some magical elements. The song shows the visual connection with their ‘Fake Love’ song. Jungkook running from the hallway to his matching his outfit. Suga who was last locked in a dark room, the same room now shows to be reviving itself, as the layers of the wall peel out and there is a plant that represents the growth. These visuals could hint at their time of healing and entering into a new world.
Remember that concert, when V confessed to A.R.M.Y that he will always ‘Purple’ them? He says it in a different in the ‘Stay Gold’ song. He touches the tree which is covered with Purple moss. As V touches the purple moss, he observes the magical glitters that comes out of his touch on the purple. Probably, he is sensing the love of his fans.
The scene probably inspired by the book ‘The Outsiders’ by S.E. Hinton. The book which set in the backdrop of a friends, who are more like family than friends. Two of them (Ponyboy and Johnny), go on the run after Johnny kills a boy to save Ponyboy’s life. They hide out in an old, abandoned church. The boys then pass their time reading ‘Gone With the Wind’. The building then accidentally is caught up with a fire and Jonny dies. Before he dies, he tells Ponyboy to ‘stay gold’. The song ‘Stay Gold’, V can be seen siting in a dark library and he sets the fire in the room. In the next scene, all the seven members enter the world of gold, where the trees are bloomed.
Remember the iconic tree from the ‘Spring Days’? Probably they have shown the same tree as it is now bloomed, representing a different time zone in their life. Their way of showing his their life has changed over the years and including their surroundings.
Those who have watched BTS’s recent BanBanConLive concert must be knowing that J-Hope had gifted the six members an handmade bracelet. The members can be seen wearing the same bracelets in the music video. Probably the song video is shot in recent times or it was J-Hope’s smart way of giving hint in his VLive video, where he spent hours making those bracelets.
