The speculations of BTS performing at the Grammys have finally come true. Yes, BTS will soon become the first South Korean boy band to perform at the prestigious music award show. Unlike previous reports stating only RM would perform at the Grammys, the whole band consisting of RM, Jungkook, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, Suga and V will perform on January 26. Notably, this would be the second time BTS would be attending the Grammys. The confirmation of BTS performing at the Grammys was made by none other than the Recording Academy. Adding fuel to speculations, Variety has recently reported that BTS would be performing with six-time Grammys 2020 nominee Lil Nas X during a segment called “Old Town Road All-Stars.”
Billy Ray Cyrus, who is nominated alongside Lil Nas X for several trophies and officially credited on the historic tune, as well as Diplo and Mason Ramsey, likely to join BTS and Lil Nas X.
As soon as the confirmation is made, the BTS ARMY discovered some old footage of the band’s interviews and pointed out every time the band has expressed their desire to perform at the Grammys.
There are several videos of Yoongi expressing his wish to set the Grammys floor on fire have resurfaced since the announcement. Fans couldn’t help but celebrating the moment as it is a dream come true for Suga.
BTS join an incredible lineup of previously-announced performers, such as Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Ariana Grande, Jonas Brothers, Camila Cabello, and many, many more. The Grammys will air live on CBS this Sunday, January 26 at 8 PM EST.
