BTS recently set a new record by becoming the 1st Korean artist to surpass 20 million total album sales on Gaon chart. Their Map of the Soul: 7 became Gaon’s first ever quadruple-million certified album with 4.17 million copies sold. BTS Map Of The Soul: 7 was a hit in top five music markets of the world post its release in February, 2020.
The group canceled its tour in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Issuing a statement, Big Hit Entertainment wrote, “We regret to announce” that the Seoul concerts have been cancelled. It was “impossible at this time to predict the scale of the outbreak”, it said, creating uncertainty over the movement of staff, equipment and fans, making the cancellation “unavoidable”, it said.
