Britney Spears Asks Judge To End Guardianship; Justin Timberlake, Khloe Kardashian Lend Support
Britney Spears finds support in Justin Timberlake, Khloe Kardashian as #FreeBritney trends on Twitter
Britney Spears asked a judge to end court conservatorship that has controlled her life and money since 2008. Spears called the conservatorship “abusive,” and condemned her father and the others who have controlled it. After 13 years of near silence in the conservatorship matter, this was the first time that the singer has opened up on it. Soon #FreeBritney started trending on social media.
Britney Spears sounded off before a Los Angeles probate judge Brenda Penny on Wednesday. She feels this conservatorship is abusive, so cannot live a full life. Britney added that she wants this conservatorship to end without having to be evaluated and wants her life back.
She further added that, under the legal arrangement, she has been prevented from having a contraceptive implant removed, despite wanting more children. It left her “traumatized” and “depressed.”
A number of Hollywood stars took to social media to extend their support to Britney Spears.
