Leading Bollywood Production Houses Join Hands Against Defamatory Reporting By Media
Several Movie Production Houses Come Together Against The Defamatory Reporting By Few News Channel. The Update Comes After Certain TV News Channels Were Seen Using Highly Derogatory Words For Celebs And The Industry
Bollywood has been constantly under the radar of news channels ever since NCB initiated the drug nexus probe in the industry. Several news channels were seen targeting celebs as well as production houses. As per the latest development, a civil suit has been filed in Delhi High Court on Monday i.e. October 12 by four Bollywood industry associations and thirty four leading producers seeking the Court to direct Arnab Goswami (Republic TV), Pradeep Bhandari (Republic TV), Rahul Shivshankar (Times Now) and Navika Kumar (Times Now), and unknown defendants including few social media platforms to refrain from publishing irresponsible, derogatory and defamatory remarks against Bollywood.
The movie production houses including several producers seek that the defendants should abide by the provisions of the Programme Code under the Cable Television Networks Rules, 1994, and to withdraw, recall and take down all the defamatory content published by them against Bollywood. The step has been taken by the industry insiders after the mentioned channels were apparently seen using highly derogatory words and expressions for Bollywood such as ‘dirt’, ‘filth’, ‘scum’, ‘druggies’ and expressions such as ‘it is Bollywood where the dirt needs to be cleaned’, ‘all the perfumes of Arabia cannot take away the stench and the stink of this filth and scum of the underbelly of Bollywood’, ‘This is the dirtiest industry in the country’, and ‘cocaine and LSD drenched Bollywood’.
