BMW Group India CEO Rudratej Singh passed away on Monday. He was 46 at the time of death. The cause of his death is said to be due to a cardiac arrest in his home in Gurgaon.
Rudratej was called Rudy by his friends and colleagues. He had joined BMW India in August 2019 after he served as the Global President at Royal Enfield and before that he worked with Unilever in India and international markets for over 16 years.
As reported by PTI, the company mourned the death of the CEO in its statement. The statement read: “BMW Group India, with profound sorrow, announces the demise of Rudratej Singh (46), President and Chief Executive Officer on April 20, 2020.”
“Our prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult period. He will always be remembered as an inspiring and compassionate human being,” the company said.
The statement further said, “His transformational vision and strategic orientation played a crucial role in the navigation of BMW Group India in a challenging business environment, it further read. His demise comes at a crucial junction when the company was in midst of implementing strategic measures for strengthening the dealer network across India.”
Before Rudy’s death, a senior executive at the firm, Mihir Dayal, who was the director for sales at the firm passed away earlier this month. He died due to cancer and was 40. Rudy had also written an obituary for Dayal on April 8 on his Twitter handle.
