On August 2nd, 2020, Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari, who came to Mumbai to investigate Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajot’s suicide case. Now, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has released the IPS officer from the quarantine center.
“Bihar IPS officer #VinayTiwari, who was quarantined in Mumbai, to leave for Patna today. Four other officers had returned to Patna yesterday.
BMC has informed me, through a text message, that I can go out of quarantine. I’ll be leaving for Patna now: Vinay Tiwari (in file pic),” reported ANI.

The BMS statement read: ”The Municipal commissioner of MCGM has is asking to exempt IPS officer Vinay Tiwari from home quarantine to facilitate his return to Patna to resume his duties.”
Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey took to his official Twitter handle to thank the BMC, he wrote, “माननीय सर्वोच्च न्यायालय की टिप्पणी के बाद बिहार के पुलिस मुख्यालय ने BMC के आयुक्त को दुबारा पत्र लिखकर अपने IPS अधिकारी विनय तिवारी को मुक्त करने के लिए कल अनुरोध किया था जिसे स्वीकार करते हुए विनय को मुक्त किया गया है.वे आज शाम को पटना लौट रहे हैं.BMC को धन्यवाद !”
