BlizzCon 2019 was an exciting event for the fans with plenty of announcements to go around. Blizzard president J. Allen Brack briefly addressed the controversy over Blitzchung’s statement and his suspension. BlizzCon revealed two major new games and two expansions to Blizzard’s other existing franchises this year. Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 were both confirmed. World of Warcraft and Hearthstone’s upcoming expansions were also announced.

BlizzCon 2019 announces Overwatch 2
Blizzard Entertainment announced Overwatch 2 at the BlizzCon 2019, five years after the first Overwatch announcement. Vice president Jeff Kaplan made the announcement at BlizzCon 2019, citing that Overwatch 2 will have both PvP and PvE unlike Overwatch. Sojourn, a new playable hero, was also confirmed. Kaplan revealed that the sequel will take an unconventional approach with “a shared multiplayer environment” where Overwatch players can face off against Overwatch 2 players in PvP multiplayer. So far, Blizzard has not revealed a release date, only announcing that the sequel is “in development”.
BlizzCon 2019 announces Diablo IV
Diablo IV was announced with two accompanying trailers. The first trailer saw the return of Diablo antagonist Lilith. The second trailer introduced three of the five playable. These include the barbarian, the Sorcerer, and the Druid.
No release date has been announced as of yet.
World Of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion released
World of Warcraft’s Shadowlands expansion was released in BlizzCon 2019. Through Shadowlands, players can traverse through the afterlife of Warcraft universe. The expansion offers four new zones in Revendreth, Ardenweald, Maldraxxus, and Bastion.
Hearthstone: Descent of Dragons expansion released
Hearthstone got its own expansion pack with Descent of Dragons that offers a new mode called Hearthstone Battlegrounds. Players will get the chance to add 135 new cards to their collection. Galakrond Hero card will also be available and can replace any existing class. Descent of Dragons is going to conclude the stoy started with Rise of Shadows and Saviors of Uldum.
