BJP’s Uttarakhand general secretary resigns after sexual harassment allegations
Sanjay Kumar, BJP’s general secretary of Uttarakhand has been removed from his post after a woman party worker accused him of sexual harassment, reported news agency ANI on Sunday.
Kumar was reported to have allegedly assaulted the woman, sent her derogatory text messages and deceived her after promising to provide her with a job. Kumar assaulted the woman party worker at the party’s headquarters in Balbir road, following which the victim complained to the party’s office bearers in the state.

The news agency also reported that Kumar was a Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) member before joining politics. He had been serving in the post of the general secretary for the last seven years before resigning on Sunday.
This is, however, not the first time a politician has resigned after sexual harassment allegations came up against them. Earlier in September, NSUI chief Fairoz Khan had resigned from his post following sexual harassment allegations.
