BJP has announced Metro Man E Sreedharan as Chief Minister candidate in the upcoming Kerala Assembly Election 2021. The news was shared by BJP chief K Surendran on Thursday. Metro Man E Sreedharan has joined the party last week.
“‘Metro man’ E Sreedharan built (a) bridge in five months without corruption. Not like the flyover which had to be brought down and was reflective of CPM-UDF (mis)-rule. We have requested the party to make E Sreedharan the Chief Minister candidate,” Surendran said.
Sreedharan visited the Palarivattom flyover in Kochi, dressed up in the uniform of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). This is the last time he carried the uniform. He added that he will file the nomination papers after resigning from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). But he stated that he will be overseeing his projects even if gets elected as an NLA or any other post. ANI quoted the Metro Man saying, “I will not be working like a politician… I will work like a technocrat.”
He also outlined his plans for the State and said that it would be difficult to achieve his goals unless he is the Chief Minister. If BJP comes to power in Kerala, there will be four major areas to be focussed upon- one is infrastructure development and another is to bring industry to the state.
The polling for the 140-seat Kerala assembly will take place on April 6. The counting of the votes will take place on May 2, 2021.
