BJP Chief Amit Shah hits back at Congress and JD(S)
The Congress is in a mood of celebration ever since Yeddyurappa resigned on May 19, before the trust vote. The alliance with JD(S) and Congress has been the cause of Yeddyurappa’s resignation.
However, BJP is quite wounded by this defeat. Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Amit Shah was quite hash towards the Congress. Shah says Congress is so frustrated by its losses that it has now started celebrating its defeat. Reporting the alliance between JD(S) and Congress as “unholy”, Shah said, the people voted for BJP, but both the parties i.e. JD(S) and Congress, used wrong means to gain control of the government.
He allegedly said, “Only Congress and JD(S) are celebrating, people of Karnataka are not (celebrating). The mandate given by people of Karnataka was against the Congress. There was no confusion about it. I want to ask them what is more humiliating…losing a few by polls or suffering defeating in 14 states. If we had not staked claim to form government, it would have been against the mandate of Karnataka people.”
“The Manipur example is often being cited. I want to make it clear in Manipur we went first to stake claim to form a government. Congress kept on taking time. In Goa and Manipur – both states Congress wasn’t the first party to stake the claim. Governor invited BJP since we were the second largest party and claimed first,” he further added.
