Though the Lok Sabha elections are 10 months away, each political party is being prepared for it. Be it Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress, TDP, JD(U) or All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. On his two-day tour in Bihar, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi held Congress responsible for the backwardness of the Seemanchal belt.
Pointing at the Congress, who is trying to make a coalition with regional parties across India for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Owaisi indicated that his party would prefer to stand alone, that allying with either NDA or UPA.
Owaisi was seen upset with the Congress, who did not support him while BJP was passing the bill to criminalise triple talaaq in Lok Sabha. He said, “When BJP was passing a bill in Lok Sabha to criminalise triple talaaq, no one supported me including the Congress.”

Looking at the prospects of enhancing his roots to northern part of India, after claiming victory in Maharashtra assembly elections, Owaisi had fielded candidates in Bihar during the previous polls, though he could secure seats. However, this time he is not going to give his opponents a chance, he claims.
While addressing a gathering, he took a jibe at Nitish Kumar of switching sides for political gains. He said, “Have you ever thought about that the party you voted for and what happened to their alliance to defeat BJP and RSS? And now Nitish Kumar is seated in Modi’s lap and drinking milk.”
Not only that, he also challenged Congress and JD(U) to explain what development they did for Seemanchal area. He said, “I challenge everyone, whether it is the Congress party or Nitish Kumar, to explain what they did for the development Seemanchal and for the people of Seemanchal.”
