On Monday, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda Gates announced their divorce after 27 years of being married and 34 years as a couple. In their statement, the two mentioned that they will continue to work together at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The news of their split has been trending on social media ever since the announcement was made. Many netizens expressed sadness and shock over the split.
Now, their elder daughter Jennifer Gates has reacted to their parents’ split on her Instagram story. “Hi friends, By now, many of you have heard the news that my parents are separating,” she wrote.
“It’s been a challenging stretch of time for our whole family, I’m still learning how to best support my own process and emotions as well as family members at this time, and am grateful for the space to do so. I won’t personally comment further on anything around the separation, but please know that your kind words and support mean the world to me.”
“Thank you for understanding our desire for privacy while we navigate the next phases of our lives. With love and respect, Jenn xx,” she concluded.

Bill and Melinda Gates’ divorce is the second split to rock the business world after Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie Scott’s 2019 separation.
