A Bihar woman was allegedly thrashed, stripped naked and paraded at Bihiya in Bhojpur district merely on the suspicion of being involved in the murder of a youth. The dead body of the youth was found near the railway tracks at Bihiya railway station. Reports suggest that the youth was murdered somewhere else and his body was dumped near the railway tracks.
People’s faces turned ashen as soon as they learnt about the murder. They resorted to vandalism and pelted stones on trains due to which the police had to fire in the air to disperse the crowds. The SHO was suspended following the incident and senior police officials have been camping in Bihiya.
Patna Zone Inspector General, told ANI that the Station House Officer (SHO) Bihiya has been suspended. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered and police raids to nab the culprits are on.
Tejashwi Yadav, leader of opposition in Bihar took to Twitter to express his grief and comment upon the issue.
The National Commission for Women has taken cognizance of the incident.
