Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had hinted about amendments last month, also mentioned about setting up a committee to look into complaints of misuse of the prohibition law. Nitish Kumar has relaxed certain provisions of prohibition in the state today. Mr Kumar’s cabinet scrapped some of the stringent provisions of prohibition, like sealing of a campus where liquor bottle have been found. Thus, giving enough points to the critics who considered that the liquir ban was a failure.
It is also said that a house or vehicle won’tt be seized if liquir or a drunk person is found on the premises.
The chief minister, however, said there would be “no compromise” on the prohibition policy.
